Prey for Rock & Roll: Prey For Rock & Roll is the story of Jacki and her all-girl rock and roll band, Clam Dandy, who are trying to make it in the LA club scene of the late 1980's. After ten years of being ignored by record producers, Jacki and the band find hope in one producer who promises to see them play and consider them for a contract. Jacki resolves to play this one last gig and then throw in the towel if she does not find success. Personal tragedies, however, threaten to rip the band apart, rocking the foundation of friendship and trust the women have built together. Ultimately, the band must find its strength in the music that is their passion and the thread that holds them together, inspiring them to prevail. |

I can't even begin to write how much this movie I can relate to. Between the years 1993 till 2001 I sang in a band called Deviant Behavior from New York City. We had 2 albums in that time both of which went no where. We had no commercial value for anyone to sign us, just a lot of people trying to get in on what wasn't theirs. There is no industry and your probably better off D.I.Y. It was nice to see Texas Teri, I opened for her at the Continental in 1999/2000. I haven't sang in 9 years, I decided to promote events and D.J. I'm working for myself. I make shit money doing what I do but its the only thing that make me happy. This movie was real, if you never played or been onstage you might not relate to the movie and might even think it's boring. What made it even better was the musicians were all my age, so related even more. Rock and roll is no easy lifestyle. I can never tell my somewhat conservative family how some of my days went. The very end of this movie was a quote basically saying, even if you don't get what you want, your age is no excuse to sell out what you love best and that the most important thing is your art, your family and friends and hopefully that is all one in the same. Cause for me its not like that but because of that quote I thing I will work much harder so that it is. Up the riot grrrls, don't ever give up!!
